Los Angeles Clippers player Nicolas Batum is making a significant move by listing his luxurious mansion in North Carolina for $6 million. This decision comes nearly six years after he was waived by the Charlotte Hornets. Batum, who is 37 years old and originally from France, purchased the stunning lakefront property for $3.95 million in September 2016, shortly after being traded from the Portland Trail Blazers. Despite his departure from the Hornets in November 2020, Batum maintained ties to the home, which he now seems ready to sell as he fully embraces his new chapter with the Clippers on the West Coast.
The Mediterranean-style mansion, built in 2007, is described by listing agent Michelle Rhyne as feeling more like a private resort than a traditional residence. With 10,320 square feet of living space, the home boasts six spacious bedrooms and six full bathrooms, complete with an elevator for easy access. The primary suite is particularly impressive, featuring four large closets, two water closets, and a wet bar, all overlooking the serene lake and pool area.
One of the standout features of Batum's home is his dedicated "shoe room," which showcases an extensive collection of sneakers organized on custom shelves. Originally intended as a suite with a bathroom and closet, Batum transformed this space to accommodate his impressive footwear collection. The open kitchen, designed for entertaining, features high-end appliances and flows seamlessly into the main living areas, leading out to the veranda and pool.
As Batum prepares to move on from North Carolina, the property has already generated interest, with the listing showing it is under offer just days after hitting the market. Batum, who shares two children with his wife Lily, has not lived in the mansion full-time since his trade in 2020, although they have used it as a vacation retreat. This sale marks a significant transition for the two-time Olympic medalist as he continues his career with the Los Angeles Clippers.
